The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) latest climate update shows that we just had the hottest April ever recorded. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that there is a trend happening here now that the previous seven months have been recorded with breaking hottest average temperatures (see the Guardian’s video below to learn more). This in itself is concerning, but even more so given that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump recently announced that his new energy adviser will be Rep. Kevin Cramer. Cramer is a well known climate change skeptic. According to Bloomberg, there’s an extensive list of Environmental Protection Agency regulations that Cramer says should be tossed. He wants to begin with canning the Clean Power Plan and just-issued methane curbs. The Trump campaign detailed that Cramer will step into his role by preparing two papers on energy policy in the coming months.

We believe that awareness of the scientific consensus on human-caused climate change is a key factor in people’s decisions whether or not to support action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, our goal is to use technology and a community of climate change champions to create a global coordinated megaphone that informs the public about climate change on a regular basis.
